2.04 - Exception to GM Contracts
QB Injury
In the case a GM who is on the hot seat has a team that suffers a QB injury during his hot seat season, a 1 year extension can be awarded if the following condition is met.

The quarterback who starts for the team in week 1 suffers an injury and misses, for a minimum, at least 4 consecutive regular season games. (If a QB who suffers an injury for less than 4 weeks is placed on the IR [becoming a season ending injury], he does not qualify.

Extenuating Circumstances
If GMs feel they deserve another season due to an A.I. glitch or any other extenuating circumstances that occurred during their hot seat season, they may appeal to the Executive Committee for a 1-year extension. It must outline the reasons why they believe they deserve a 1-year extension and what circumstances, if any, will be different the following season. Note: This will not be approved liberally. There must be a compelling reason for the E.C. to grant the 1-year extension.

-----------------------

In the case a team qualifies for this extension, they remain on the hot seat, however, their new "extension goal" for the following season changes from an improved record, to a mandatory playoff birth.

A GM may decline to invoke this clause if they feel they will be unable to compete the following season and/or want a potential fresh start with a new team.

Exceptions cannot be used in back-to-back seasons.
