2.06 - Team News and League Articles
Due to the nature of the time it takes to go through articles to assign points, we are going to point a weekly limit on the amount of articles which can go toward earning activity points.

This is mostly due to the time it takes for the assigned person to manage the points. The Executive Committee highly encourages activity and we hope that league members will continue to contribute on a consistent basis.

However, with that being said, only the following articles will be considered for activity points. Please pay attention to the definitions of each type of article.

Team News

Team news articles focus on your team, the players, development, etc. It does not make mention or analyze other teams, outside of the "normal" interaction of two teams (i.e. playing games, stealing UFAs, creating Flaccogate, etc.).

Each calendar week (Sunday - Saturday), the first two team news articles written by a GM will count toward gaining activity points. If you have plans for a longer article later in the week, and wish one of your first two posts not to count toward activity points, please mark so in the Subject title, such as:

Deadskins Steal Steve McNair Out From Under America's Team [NO AP]

GMs are encouraged to write more than two team news articles, if they wish, but must understand they will not receive activity points for all.

League Articles

League articles focus on multiple teams in the league and do not focus on the players or success (or lack of success if you're Washington) of one specific team. These should be considered high quality analysis articles.

Each calendar week (Sunday - Saturday), the first league article written by a GM will count toward your activity point total. In order to count for a league article, the article must discuss and analyze a minimum of four teams OR discuss a Madden strategy that can be relevant to all 32 teams (for example, Peter Fenger's NAFL posts featuring position analysis).

There are, however, two exceptions to this rule:

  • 500+ words: Additional league articles can count toward activity points if they exceed 500 words and meet all other requirements.
  • Article Series: Plan to do weekly power rankings? Draft analysis? Prediction series? They do not fall into this realm, as the analysis is often considered "high quality" and takes time to create.

Plagiarism

If we discover any GM is not creating original content, but plagiarizing content in order to earn activity points, they will receive a strike, have their activity points account drained to zero (regardless of how many they have), and a random player on the team will receive a one-year suspension.
