3.14 - Mentor Program
The SFL has implemented a "Mentor Program" to incentivize the signing of veteran free agents. Mentor designations are to be posted after the draft and no later than before the veteran minimum contract phase ends.

Each team is allowed to designate one mentor per season.

Mentor requirements are:

• 30 years of age or older
• 90+ AWR at the time of designation

Mentee requirements are:

• 25 years of age or younger
• Plays the exact same position as the Mentor (i.e. RT to RT, not LT to RT)
• Effective 2016, only players in their Rookie or Sophomore seasons can be mentored

The Mentee Receives:

• +5 AWR at the end of the season
