49ers "Release Me" Darryl Sharpton Wanted Out of San Francisco

 In a salary cap move, MLB Darryl Sharpton was cut by the 49ers today after 9 years in the league.

A statement from the GM Gary Hickman read, "He's just too old to compete at a high level. This move was necessary."

Coach Mike Nolan was not available for comment.
